Why doesn't anything happen when I click the "Customize" button?

If your Browser is set to block Pop-up windows, then the Tag Designer will not launch.  You should have an indicator near the top of your Browser window indicating that it blocked a Pop-up.  It should also give you options, such as "Always allow pop-ups from this site".  Set the option and then try again. Nothing happens after I choose the color. Why not?

If the window that displays the Tag Designer is too small, you won't see the bottom area, which is where the Previous and Next navigation can be found (you can see these on one of the demos).  To fix the problem, stretch the dimensions of your Tag Designer window, or maximize it. If that doesn't work, use the scroll bars to move down to the bottom of the screen where the navigation controls can be found. (top)

 

How much is Shipping and Handling?

First Class Shipping and Handling is based on weight.  Within the United States, it's $1.99 for the first ounce and $0.50 for each additional ounce - this includes tracking.  A single medical alert tag with a 24" chain is 1 ounce.  Three economy pet tags are 1 ounce.  Priority Shipping is a flat rate based on package size. What are the tags made out of?

Tags are made from aircraft grade aluminum, making them light weight, yet very strong.  Color is added through a process called anodizing, which bonds a color coating to the aluminum. (top)

 

The wallet card seems like plastic, is it really metal?

Absolutely Yes.  It’s only 1/50 inch thick, but definitely metal, so it won’t take up much space, but will last longer than your wallet.(top)

 

Are these engraved or printed?

The tags are engraved by laser.  The laser light turns the anodized coating on the tag white.  This only requires engraving about 1/1000 of an inch deep, so it won’t look like traditional engraving into jewelry, which is about 1/16 of an inch deep.(top)

 

Will the engravings wash off or rub off?

These are permanent engravings, which will not wash off.  The only way to affect the engraving is by abrasion (e.g., rubbing with sandpaper) or caustic chemicals.  Under normal conditions, the tags will last for many years.(top)

 

My Photo Tag is turning gray - what should I do?

Oils from your fingers can turn the white portions of the photo tag a darker shade.  To remove the oils, use a mild liquid detergent, like Dawn, which breaks up grease.  Once dry, the tag should look like new. (top)

 

Can I clean the tag?

Yes.  We recommend a mild detergent that breaks up grease, like liquid Dawn.(top)

 

Do the tags come with accessories?

The Medical Alert tags and Photo Tags do not include any accessories.  You can purchase chains or a key ring on the Accessories product page.  Pet tags do include a small split ring connector to attach them to a collar. (top)

 

I have 7 cats.  Do I have to type in all the information for each tag?

There’s an easier way.  Add the first tag to the Shopping Cart and in the Designer type in all the information, for example: name, address and phone number.  Then, once you’re back in the Shopping Cart, click the button that shows “Order in another Color”.  Everything is the same as the first tag, so choose the color you want and then change the pet name on the tag, leaving the other information the same.  Repeat this for each pet.(top)

 

My phone number changed.  Is there an easy way to order an updated tag?

Yes.  Select the same style tag and in the first step of the Design process, choose that tag from “My Old Designs” and then proceed to the page with your phone number.  Click on the phone number and type in the new number.  That’s all it takes.(top)
 

The necklace I received is too long.  How can I shorten it?

Use a household scissors to cut the chain down to the desired length.(top)

 

What is the little ring that comes with the chain necklace?

That’s a “jump ring”.  It can be used to connect the chain to the tag, so that the tag sits flat on your chest.  If you put the chain directly through the tag, then the tag will twist when you wear it.  To attach the jump ring, twist it with your fingers or a pair of pliers; insert it through the tag hole; twist it closed; thread the chain through the jump ring.(top)

 

Do you sell bracelets?

No, but you can wear the tag like a charm on a bracelet.(top)

 

Do the silencers fit the pet tags?

No, they are for the medical alert tags only.(top)

 

Are there discounts for buying large quantities?

If you’re interested in quantities of 10 or more of the same exact tag, use the “Contact Us” page to inquire about discount pricing.(top)

 

I don’t have a PayPal account – how can I buy a tag?

You don’t need a PayPal account.  You can pay with a credit card.  PayPal just takes care of processing that credit card transaction.(top)
 

Why does the shipping seem so high for 1 tag?

We are shipping all tags as small packages with Tracking.  That costs a lot more than sending a letter.  Of course the incremental cost of shipping additional tags is much less than the cost for shipping the first tag..(top)
